Equity Investments
The Wakefield James Management Group, LLC is a private
equity firm specializing in the acquisition of high-end millwork
and niche building product companies with revenues between
$10 million and $100 million. We emphasize a buy-and-build
strategy, whereby we acquire platform companies that have
both internal growth opportunities and strategic add-on acquisitions
opportunities.
For companies that we do not invest in, we offer strategic
consulting services with the goal of improving their competitive
positions and increasing their business value.
Our strength as a firm is our ability to partner with management
and, when necessary, to take interim operating roles to increase
shareholder value. Though we prefer to partner with senior
management in our acquisitions, we will consider acquisition
opportunities where the owner-operator is retiring and key
employees must be recruited to fill critical management roles.
We are interested in companies and owners who share our long-term
business philosophy, who live and breathe customer service,
who care about their customers, and who worry about the future
of their employees. In addition, we respect and understand
the estate planning and tax considerations of an individual,
who has most of his/her wealth tied up in a business.
Our investors are a group of senior business people, who have
invested capital to acquire manufacturing and distribution
companies in the Southeast. These individuals are active and
involved in the business and civic community, and have built
substantial enterprises. Moreover, they provide the management
team with a wealth of advice and experience.
We are long term investors and believe business is based
on trust, character, and hard work. Our experienced management
